Historical Event on 6/4/1997
Indian National Satellite (INSAT-2D), fourth satellite in INSAT-2 series, launched. This has additional capabilities such as mobile satellite service, business communication and television outreach beyond Indian boundaries. This became inoperable due to power bus anamoly since Oct. 4, 1997. It was launched by European launch vehicle, Ariane from Kourov in French Guyana.

12/20/1998	Dr. B. V. Raman (86), a reputed astrologer, dies in Bangalore following a cardiac arrest. He was the Editor of The Astrological Magazine.
6/23/1946	Gandhiji advises Congress not to enter Interim Government, but only Constituent Assembly.
7/31/2000	The Government announces appointment of Justice B. M. Lal as Chairman of the MRTP Commission.
