Historical Event on 1/9/1922

Har Gobind Khurana, scientist of Biology, was born in India. He did his M.Sc from University of Punjab and, for higher education went to University of Liverpool. In 1959, he produced a chemical called ""Coenzymea"", which is essential for certain processes in the human body. He was awarded Nobel Prize for medicine in 1968 along with Marshall W. Nirenberg and Robert W. Halley.

12/23/1902Chaudhary Charan Singh was born at Noopur village in Hapur Tehsil near Meerut. He was a freedom fighter and had done many deeds for upliftment of Agriculture in India. He was the Prime Minister of India from July 1979 to January 1980.
5/13/1916Vasudev Mahadev Salgaonkar, great Industrialist, was born.
9/30/1900Mohommad Ali Chhagla, former central minister, was born.
2/9/1931A set of six stamps were issued during the inauguration of New Delhi.

11/25/1997Election Commission de-recognises Janata Party and Congress (Tiwari) as national parties and de-recognises Pattali Makkal Katchi in Tamil Nadu, J & K Panthers Party and J & K People's Conference in Jammu and Kashmir, Indian Congress (Socialist) in Kerala and Manipur and Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam in Tamil Nadu. Pattali Makkal Katchi will continue to be recognised as State party in Pondicherry.

9/14/1919Nyalchand Shah, bowled 64-33-97-3 in the Test between India vs Pakistan, was born at Dhragandhara in Gujarat.
