Born in a music-loving family,
Hindol
was immensely inspired towards music by his music-enthusiast father, the Late Prasanta Chattopadhyay since his childhood. He was initially groomed under his mother Smt. Bharati Devi (Vocalist) and uncle Sri Susanta Chattopadhyay, disciple of Pandit Monilal Nag; later he received his elaborate training from Pandit Amar Karmakar (disciple of Legendary Ustad Vilayat Khan Saheb); late Bimal Chattopadhyay and The Late Legend Ustad Vilayat Khan Saheb! He has received his Sangeet Visharad degree from Pracheen Kalakendra, Chandigarh. Hindol has invented four new ragas namely Pitambari, Ashrusinchan, Palash Bahar & Veerbhadra. Ragas Pitambari, Palash Bahar were broadcasted worldwide from Wolverhampton, FRSA & the Raga Veerbhadra from Chhandayan/Kolkata-New York-worldwide on 15 February, 2020.

Hindol Chattopadhyay is considered one of the most engaging, intelligent and talented instrumentalists in contemporary Hindusthani Music. The qualities, which he conjures up on the sitar with such ease, have so far earned him an international reputation of considerable distinction.
His recognition as an artist is firmly grounded in his deep understanding of the classical style. His masterly conception of the grand design and architecture of the ragas has enabled him to innovate with in instrumental form, and this is especially evident in his creative approach to as Hindol created two ragas named Pitambari and Ashurusincan which are admired and approved by the a top gradeartist Vidushi Kalayani ROY of Etawa Gharana. All these promises that Hindol has a bright and illustrious musical future.
