Historical Event on 9/10/1943
Satyendra Chandra Bardhan, Vakkom Abdul Khader, Fouja Singh, Boniface Pereira and Anandan were hanged on charges of conspiracy to ""wage war against the King"" under the Ememy Agents Ordinance (which was given retrospective effect) at Madras Jail. They sang Vande Mataram and shouted ""Bharat Mata Ki Jai"" when they were being hanged.

8/9/1942	Mahatma Gandhi after announcing 'do or die' slogan alongwith 'Quit India Movement' at Bombay was arrested along with 50 others. Gandhiji was interned in Aga Khan Palace at Poona. This Do or Die slogan deep rooted in Indian hearts and resulted in nationwide Quit India Movment. This day is commemorated as ""Kranti Day"". Govind Vallabh Pant was send to Ahmednagar Jail, while Sarojini Naidu and many other leaders were also arrested.
12/21/1994	The IAF return from peace keeping duties as part of the Indian contingent supporting UN operations in Somalia.
5/26/1957	Janta Insurance Scheme was inaugurated in Bombay.
12/17/1959	Pattabhi Sitaramayya, president of Indian National Congress and politician, died at the age of 78.
6/8/1915	Geeta Rahasya', written by Lokmanya Tilak, published.
